Chiropractic

A healthcare discipline and profession that focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially that in the spine, under the hypothesis that these disorders affect general health via the nervous system. Dr. Rathmann, Dr. Bouy and Dr. Richards are available to implement an individualized therapy plan in order to relieve your pain, so you can return to functioning at your normal performance level again.

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation is used to relieve specific pressure and pain, such as back, neck and shoulder pain, and improve the body's physical function. We manipulate the spine through a therapeutic intervention performed by moving a joint beyond its normal range of motion, but not beyond the range of motion the joint is designed to move. Most patients associate this therapy with the resulting audible “pop” that often comes with spinal manipulation.

Therapeutic Modalities

The teams at Rathmann Chiropractic Clinic use an array of manual and mechanical techniques to relieve pain, increase range of motion (ROM), build strength, improve circulation and increase a patient's overall mobility. Our patient’s overall well-being is important to us, and that’s why we offer personally performed, state-of-the art treatment. We want to ensure the longevity of the patient’s health and freedom from pain.

X-Rays

X-Rays play a crucial role in diagnosis and treatment of various illnesses and injuries. These very important diagnostic instruments allow chiropractors to clearly and precisely identify the condition and formulate a treatment solution for the client. Rathmann Chiropractic Clinic provide x-rays on site. In fact, everything that’s needed for your diagnostic and treatment plan is available in-house, making it more convenient for you.

Electrical Stimulation

Electrical stimulation works by stimulating the muscles or tissue with a mild electrical current, helping the body in the healing process. Typically applied after surgery or injury, the stimulation creates muscle contraction, increases blood circulation and prevents disuse atrophy. Electrical stimulation is also utilized to reduce pain by stimulating sensory nerves, to promote healing of damaged tissue, and to prevent scar tissue.

Heat Therapy

Superficial Heating treatment is recommended in subacute conditions to increase tissue elasticity and help promote the healing of injured tissue in the body. Applying heat is a simple and effective way of relieving joint pain and residual swelling associated with injury, as well as reducing muscle spasms associated with lower back and neck strain. It can also help increase flexibility of tight muscles that are a result of skeletal muscle strain (eg., hamstring, quadriceps).

Plyometric Exercise

Plyometric exercises encourage specialized muscle contractions, or rapid response movements, and cause a tremendous amount of stress on the musculoskeletal system. These exercises are incorporated in the later stages of recovery from an injury in order to achieve ideal athletic performance. Typically, they involve hops and bounding for the lower extremities, and medicine balls and other weighted equipment for the upper extremities.

Stretching

Stretching is an important aspect of chiropractic therapy to reduce pain and improve mobility. It’s simple, can also be done at home and usually does not require special equipment. The teams at Rathmann Chiropractic Clinic advise and educate our clients on correct stretch positioning, and which specific stretching techniques will promote healing for your unique condition. Our goal is to heal painful conditions while setting healthy physical habits!
